Lifeline is the FCC's program to help make communications services more affordable for low-income consumers. Lifeline provides subscribers a discount on monthly telephone service purchased from participating providers in the marketplace.

The Affordable Connectivity Program is an FCC benefit program that helps ensure that households can afford the broadband they need for work, school, healthcare and more.

The benefit provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands.

Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers if they contribute more than $10 and less than $50 toward the purchase price.

The Affordable Connectivity Program is limited to one monthly service discount and one device discount per household.

Lifeline Cell Phone Eligibility:

You are eligible if you receive benefits from any of these programs:

• Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (Food Stamps or SNAP)
• Medicaid
• Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
• Federal Public Housing Assistance (Section 8)
• Veterans Pension and Survivor's Benefit.
• Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance (BIA)
• Tribally Administered Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (Tribal TANF)
• Tribal Head Start (only those households meeting its income qualifying standard)
• Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR)

You may also qualify if your Total household Income is at or under 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, 

Please note that we have seen conflicting numbers amongst the providers–some say 135% and some say 150%.
